Solution guide
ProSight Flow measurement solutions for water, wastewater, food production, chemical dosing, oil and gas, steam utilities, pharmaceutical processes and heavy industry.
Choose the measurement principle for the medium and operating range, then select the meter, installation, output and recording or control system together. Use the comparisons and live equipment links below to build a shortlist and send a useful specification.

Vortex option for a properly specified steam or utility duty; confirm the compensation package and minimum operating flow.
Kits and system starting points
ProSight Wastewater Flow & Turbidity Recorder Kit
Base listing: one DN50 electromagnetic meter, one optical turbidity sensor, one MPR800 8-channel recorder and one CM6024 power supply. Field installation, sample arrangements and configuration are separate unless quoted.
ProSight Irrigation Flow & Temperature Recorder Kit
Base listing: one DN25 electromagnetic meter, one PT100 probe, one MPR800 8-channel recorder and one CM6024 supply. Records flow rate and temperature; do not assume analogue recording includes flow totalisation.
4G Remote Water Flow & Leak Monitoring Kit – Farms, Irrigation & Tanks
Remote water-flow starting point with selectable inline sensor sizes. The listing specifies NB-IoT: confirm local network coverage, exact device, SIM/data plan and any ProSight subscription before selection. The 4G title does not imply support for every cellular network.
Smart Flow Totalizer & Indicator
For local flow indication and totals from a compatible external meter. Match its input and power configuration before ordering.
Choose an industry guide
Oil & gas
Separate process monitoring from trade measurement. None of these links establishes hazardous-area, custody-transfer or billing approval. Obtain the required certificates for the exact supplied assembly before selection.

Water & wastewater
Turbidity and flow answer different questions. A flow reading does not establish water quality, and a turbidity reading does not identify a contaminant. Select representative measurement points and a maintenance plan for both.

Food & beverage
A batching system also needs a controller, correctly sized shutoff valve or pump interface, operator controls and an agreed overrun strategy. A flow meter alone does not provide automatic dosing. Hygienic fittings do not establish regulated food approval.

Chemical dosing
Provide chemical name, concentration, temperature, viscosity, safety data and minimum dosing rate. Verify all wetted parts and seals; a PTFE-lined meter is not automatically compatible with every chemical. Test the effect of pump pulsation and air.

Steam & utilities
Define the calculation boundary before requesting an energy figure. Compensated steam mass flow and heat-use calculation require agreed inputs and equations. An ordinary water recorder kit is not a complete steam energy measurement package.

Pharma & biotech
These are technology starting points, not prequalified pharmaceutical packages. Have the process and quality teams agree hold-up volume, surface finish, seals, CIP/SIP conditions, traceability and acceptance records before a model is specified.

Mining & heavy process
Ask for the solids concentration and particle size, abrasion history, chemistry, vibration and installation orientation. Plan removal and inspection access. Separate reagent measurement, slurry measurement and utility water into their own specifications.

Build the complete measurement system
Process connection → selected meter or sensor → compatible signal input → local indication, totalisation or recording → optional telemetry and monitoring → agreed operator response.
Pulse: confirm pulses per litre or the required K-factor and receiving input frequency. 4–20 mA: agree the range, units, wiring and fault interpretation. RS485/Modbus: verify the exact register map, address, serial settings, scaling and byte order. A matching connector is not evidence of compatibility.
Keep flow rate and accumulated volume separate. Logging a 4–20 mA flow signal does not automatically provide reliable totalisation; specify and verify that calculation or read the meter's own cumulative total. Remote communications and cloud dashboards need an agreed device and integration path.
What the quotation should include
Exact meter model and size; wetted parts and seals; process fittings; transmitter and output configuration; power supply; indicator or logger; mounting and enclosure; cables; calibration documents; software and communications; and any requested configuration, installation or commissioning. Hardware listings include only their stated components and selected options.
Frequently asked selection questions
Can I fit a flow meter to an existing pipe?
A clamp-on ultrasonic meter may avoid pipe cutting when the pipe and liquid are suitable. Inline or insertion instruments require an installation assessment, process isolation and suitable fittings. Provide pipe dimensions, material, lining and nearby fittings before choosing.
Can the meter send readings to a PLC or cloud dashboard?
Use a compatible pulse, analogue or digital interface for the PLC or logger. A separate gateway, network service and configured application may be required for remote monitoring. Confirm the complete path and the values to be displayed, rather than assuming all output options are included.
Does a kit include installation and calibration?
Only expressly listed and quoted items are included. Field installation, process fittings, wiring, calibration, programming and subscriptions must be identified separately. Confirm the acceptance checks and documents required for your use.
What information is needed for a recommendation?
Fluid and concentration; conductivity or viscosity where relevant; solids or bubbles; minimum/normal/maximum flow; pressure and temperature; pipe internal diameter, material and lining; connections; available straight runs; power; output; desired rate, total or batch function; site location; quantity; and required documents.

Equipment supply and project responsibilities
ProSense supplies equipment and components under its published terms. Installation and commissioning are not included in equipment supply. The customer appoints appropriately qualified personnel for installation, electrical work and commissioning, and a suitably qualified integrator for system design, programming and interfaces.
Selection information and example architectures help define an equipment enquiry. They do not establish that an installation, integration, configuration or commissioning service is available or included. Ask ProSense to confirm any requested configuration or software work in writing before ordering.
Example equipment schedule
Use the meter and kit schedules above as selection starting points. Confirm the final part numbers, quantities, process connections, signal path, documentation and optional monitoring charges in the written quotation.
Handover and support information to agree
Record the supplied model numbers, quantities, selected options, manuals, drawings, protocol/register maps, settings and any ordered calibration documents. For a connected system, agree account ownership, licence term, data path and the party responsible for each interface.
Before site acceptance, the customer's installer/integrator should check wiring and power, sensor scaling and units, communications, alarm destinations, timestamps, missing-data behaviour and agreed recovery after a power or network interruption. Keep a record of the results and any open actions.
For selection or equipment support, send the model/SKU, order reference where available, application, installation conditions and a clear description of the question to sales@prosense.com.au or use Discuss Your Project. Agree ongoing software support, maintenance and response arrangements separately.
