Explore Milesight's university research reference and practical planning questions for indoor-environment monitoring.
Milesight reports research in a Hong Kong Polytechnic University classroom using three AM307 multi-parameter sensors and a UG65 LoRaWAN gateway. Measurements supported indoor-environment assessment and a digital-twin view. This is Milesight's published research reference, not a ProSense customer project.

Think about space as well as time
A single room-level reading can hide differences between positions. For a proposed classroom or workplace study, write down the question before choosing sensor locations. The aim might be to compare zones or review how conditions change during occupancy. Avoid drawing conclusions about the whole building from one convenient measurement point.
Create a location register
Give every device a stable identifier and record its room, position and mounting arrangement on a plan. Keep that location history if a unit is moved. A time-series chart needs both the correct timestamp and the correct place to support useful interpretation.
Start with a manageable pilot
A proposed first stage can use a small number of suitable sensors and a compatible gateway to establish reliable collection and understandable trends. A 3D view is optional; the initial test should prove that the selected measurements are valid and correctly mapped before adding a more elaborate visual layer.
Agree how the data will be used
Define the reporting interval, missing-data indication and who reviews the results. Record relevant operating context, such as room use and ventilation schedules. Environmental measurements can inform investigation, but they do not by themselves establish health outcomes or validate a ventilation design.
Define the handover evidence
Check sensor identities, location labels, reference readings where appropriate and time alignment from device to dashboard. Keep the settings and any limitations with the study record. The original research example does not imply that ProSense provides a turnkey digital-twin platform or that the same outcome is guaranteed at another site.
