Hot-Water Supply and Return Monitoring with Milesight | Application Brief
Application planning | Manufacturer reference and ProSense commentary
Plan hot-water supply and return monitoring with milesight around the measurements, communications and operator response your site needs. Explore an application concept and the questions to settle before supply.

Milesight's French hotel case includes TS302 sensors for domestic-hot-water supply and return measurements, with gateways and a BMS platform. The application ideas below are planning guidance, not a report of ProSense delivering that hotel project.
Give the two readings a purpose
Supply and return temperatures can help an operator review a circulation system over time. Establish which loop is being monitored and where each reading will be taken. A difference between readings requires context such as flow, usage and operating schedule; it should not be interpreted as a diagnosis on its own.
Plan the measurement points together
The proposed monitoring path is suitable probes, a compatible wireless device and gateway, then a trend view with clear supply and return labels. Select measurement methods and locations that suit the pipework and environment. Surface and immersed measurements should not be treated as equivalent without assessment.
Build a useful operating view
Display the two points against a common time axis and name the loop consistently. Include timestamps and a clear indication when data is overdue. Agree who reviews unusual trends and which plant information they will consult before changing settings. Monitoring does not itself control the hot-water plant.
Keep the acceptance scope clear
Verify the point identities, probe installation, readings against a suitable reference and data delivery to the intended platform. Exact devices, interfaces and alarm rules need confirmation. This example does not validate water hygiene, establish safe operating temperatures or replace the site's water-management procedures.
