Monnit Serial Modbus Gateway – Wireless Sensor Integration with RS-232C/RS-485

The ALTA® Serial Modbus Gateway (SMG) acts as a powerful data concentrator for Monnit’s ALTA long-range wireless sensor networks. Designed for industrial environments, the SMG enables you to connect up to 50 ALTA wireless sensors per gateway to your existing Modbus RTU infrastructure over RS-232C or RS-485.

Supporting open-standard Modbus protocols, this gateway makes it easy to integrate wireless sensing into SCADA, PLC, or other industrial control systems. This expands the functionality of your traditional wired systems—without the complexity or cost of running additional cabling—by bringing wireless flexibility to monitoring and automation tasks.

With the ability to coexist in networks of up to 247 Modbus devices, the ALTA SMG offers nearly unlimited wireless expansion in industrial control and data acquisition environments.
