This Battery-Powered SDI-12 to NB-IoT Converter enables seamless integration between SDI-12 environmental sensors and modern cellular IoT platforms. Widely used in agriculture, weather stations, soil monitoring, hydrology, and environmental science, SDI-12 sensors can now transmit data directly to the cloud via NB-IoT — without requiring gateways, controllers, or wired infrastructure.
The device features an SDI-12 interface with controllable 3.3V, 5V, and 12V sensor power outputs, allowing it to drive a wide range of SDI-12 probes such as soil moisture, soil temperature, leaf wetness, EC/PH, rainfall, barometric pressure, and weather station modules.
Data can be sent through multiple protocols including MQTT, MQTTs, UDP, TCP, or CoAP, giving flexibility for integration with ProSight Cloud or third-party IoT platforms. Configuration is simple via Bluetooth using a mobile phone, and OTA firmware updates are supported for long-term remote maintenance.
Powered by a high-capacity 8500mAh Li-SOCl₂ battery, the converter provides multi-year deployment in remote agricultural and environmental locations.
