The Battery-Powered RS485-to-LoRaWAN Converter (RS485-LB) is a rugged, ultra-low-power industrial interface designed to convert RS485, UART, and interrupt-type sensors into long-range LoRaWAN wireless nodes. This dramatically reduces installation costs by removing cabling, trenching, and complex wiring.

Powered by an 8500mAh long-life Li-SOCl₂ battery, the RS485-LB is engineered for multi-year field operation. Its fully sealed IP67 waterproof enclosure makes it ideal for harsh outdoor, agricultural, industrial, and remote environments.

The device supports RS485 Modbus, 3.3V/5V UART sensors, and interrupt sensors, making it compatible with a wide range of meters, controllers, instruments, pumps, actuators, industrial sensors, and environmental probes.

How the Data Flow Works

Uplink:

• The converter sends user-defined RS485/UART commands

• Receives the sensor’s response

• Processes the returned data using flexible rule templates

• Uploads the final payload to your LoRaWAN server

Downlink:

• Runs in LoRaWAN Class A

• Forwards cloud commands from your IoT server back to RS485 devices

This enables full remote monitoring and control of RS485 devices across long LoRaWAN distances.

The device also supports Bluetooth v5.1 for easy configuration and OTA firmware updates, making setup and maintenance simple.
