MONNIT Wireless High Temperature RTD Sensor is a wireless high-temperature RTD sensor designed for remote monitoring of high-heat equipment and processes. It uses a glass-coated platinum RTD probe with a -50°Celius to 370°Celius measurement range and a 3-foot, 10-foot or 25-foot lead. The AA battery-powered 433 MHz sensor communicates with a compatible Monnit gateway and can support remote monitoring, alerts and data logging.

The MONNIT Wireless High Temperature RTD Sensor is a wireless high-temperature monitoring sensor designed to measure temperatures in applications where conventional ambient temperature sensors are unsuitable.

It uses an RTD temperature sensing element connected through a probe. The RTD and probe assembly can measure temperatures from -50°Celcius to 370°Celcius, making the sensor suitable for monitoring high-temperature equipment such as ovens, furnaces, heaters and boilers.

The sensor itself is powered by two AA batteries and communicates wirelessly at 433 MHz. Monnit lists an Australia 433 MHz regional configuration for this product.

How Does It Work?

The sensor periodically wakes according to its configured reporting/heartbeat interval, powers the RTD sensing circuit, allows the RTD to stabilize, calculates the temperature and transmits the measurement to a compatible gateway. The gateway then makes the information available to the monitoring system for viewing, notifications and alerts.

If gateway communication is temporarily unavailable, the sensor can store approximately 2,000–4,000 readings in non-volatile memory, depending on the configured heartbeat interval.

Why Choose This Sensor?

  • Wide high-temperature range — RTD/probe measurement from -50°Celcius to 370°Celcius.
  • Wireless monitoring — reduces the need for long signal cables between the sensor and monitoring point.
  • 3-foot/10-foot/25-foot probe — allows the electronics to remain away from the high-temperature measurement point.
  • AA battery powered — supports flexible installation without a dedicated power cable.
  • 433 MHz Australian configuration — Monnit specifically lists Australia as a 433 MHz regional option.
  • Remote alerts — compatible monitoring software can be configured to notify users when temperature conditions change or exceed selected limits.
  • Local data storage — retains readings when communication with the gateway is interrupted.
  • Long wireless reach — Monnit specifies a wireless range of more than 1,200 ft (approximately 366 m) non-line-of-sight under stated conditions. Actual range depends on the installation environment.
  • Encrypted wireless communication — Monnit specifies Encrypt-RF security using 256-bit key exchange and AES-128 CTR for sensor data messages.
