MONNIT Coin Cell Wireless Temperature Sensor is an ALTA wireless temperature sensor designed for remote monitoring of ambient temperatures. It is suited to commercial, industrial, equipment and environmental monitoring applications where temperature changes need to be detected remotely. The MONNIT Coin Cell Wireless Temperature Sensor is a compact ALTA Wireless Temperature Sensor powered by a replaceable CR2032 coin-cell battery. It uses a thermistor to measure temperature around the sensor and wirelessly transmits readings through the Monnit ALTA wireless platform.

The exact model operates at 433 MHz, which Monnit lists for its Australia and Asia-Pacific regional configurations. The standard model is supplied without an external lead and includes the wireless sensor, CR2032 coin-cell battery and mounting hardware.

For installations requiring measurement at a location away from the sensor body, Monnit offers configurations with external temperature probes; however, these should be ordered as the appropriate leaded model rather than assumed to be included with this product.

How Does It Work?

The sensor uses a thermistor to detect temperature changes. The measured temperature is processed by the sensor and transmitted wirelessly using the ALTA 433 MHz network.

A compatible Monnit gateway is required for operation. Once connected to the monitoring system, users can configure reporting behaviour and temperature thresholds, allowing temperature changes to be monitored remotely and notifications to be generated when configured limits are exceeded.

ALTA sensors also support features such as frequency-hopping wireless communication, configurable reporting and local data storage for situations where communication with a gateway is temporarily interrupted.
