MONNIT Battery Powered Wireless Temperature Sensor is an ALTA wireless temperature sensor designed for remote ambient temperature monitoring. It is suitable for industrial equipment, facilities, storage areas, HVAC systems and other applications where temperature conditions need to be monitored remotely. The MONNIT Battery Powered Wireless Temperature Sensor is an ALTA Industrial Wireless Temperature Sensor designed to measure and remotely monitor ambient temperature.

It uses an NTC thermistor to detect temperature changes and communicates wirelessly at 433 MHz. The W2 designation identifies the AA-battery-powered configuration, making it different from the coin-cell W1 version. The sensor is designed for installation at the location where temperature needs to be monitored.

The exact standard does not include an external temperature probe. Monnit also offers separate W2 versions with external leads, including 3-foot, 10-foot, 25-foot, 50-foot and 100-foot configurations.

How Does It Work?

The sensor's NTC thermistor measures the surrounding temperature. The sensor processes the measurement and wirelessly transmits the data using the 433 MHz Monnit ALTA wireless platform.

A compatible Monnit gateway is required to receive the wireless data and connect the sensor to the monitoring system. Users can configure reporting behaviour and temperature thresholds so that temperature conditions can be monitored remotely and alerts generated when configured limits are reached.
