LoRaWAN Leaf Moisture & Temperature Sensor – Solar Powered
A solar-powered LoRaWAN leaf moisture and temperature sensor designed for long-term, maintenance-free agricultural monitoring. Ideal for dew detection, irrigation optimisation, and disease-risk modelling.
Australian stocked and supported locally by ProSense.
This Solar-Powered LoRaWAN Leaf Moisture & Temperature Sensor provides precise, real-time monitoring of leaf wetness and canopy temperature—critical indicators for irrigation management, frost prediction, and crop disease prevention.
Using advanced FDR (Frequency Domain Reflectometry) technology, the probe detects moisture by measuring changes in dielectric properties caused by water droplets, dew, or surface condensation on the leaf. The sensor is engineered in a realistic leaf-shaped design with 15 finely spaced vein lines per centimetre, enabling accurate detection of tiny droplets and subtle wetness patterns that traditional flat sensors miss.
Data is transmitted over long-range LoRaWAN, making the device perfect for large farms, vineyards, orchards, and remote agricultural installations. BLE configuration, OTA firmware updates, and downlink control ensure easy setup and flexible parameter adjustment.
The integrated solar panel + 3000mAh Li-ion rechargeable battery provides self-sustaining power, enabling years of operation with zero maintenance -ideal for remote or off-grid deployments. The enclosure is IP66-rated, and the probe is IP67-rated, offering high durability in demanding field conditions.
With local Australian stock and ProSense technical support, deployment is simple and reliable regardless of scale.
