DRAGINO SDI-12 Sensor to LoRaWAN Converter
DRAGINO SDI-12 Sensor to LoRaWAN Converter is an SDI-12 to LoRaWAN converter designed to connect SDI-12 environmental and agricultural sensors to a LoRaWAN network. It provides an SDI-12 interface for retrieving sensor data and supports controllable 5 V and 12 V outputs for external sensors. With LoRaWAN 1.0.3 Class A, Bluetooth configuration, remote configuration and periodic wireless uplinks, it provides a practical way to integrate compatible SDI-12 sensors into remote monitoring systems.
The DRAGINO SDI-12 Sensor to LoRaWAN Converter is designed for applications where SDI-12 sensors need to be connected to a LoRaWAN network. SDI-12 is an asynchronous serial communication protocol commonly used with environmental, agricultural and weather station sensors.
The converter communicates with the connected SDI-12 sensor, obtains its available measurement data and transmits the information through LoRaWAN. The device also provides controllable 5 V and 12 V outputs for powering compatible external sensors.
How it works
- Connect a compatible SDI-12 sensor to the SDI-12 interface.
- The converter communicates with the sensor using the SDI-12 protocol.
- Sensor data is collected by the converter and prepared for wireless transmission.
- The device sends the collected data through a LoRaWAN network at configured intervals.
- LoRaWAN downlink can be used to change supported configuration settings.
- Bluetooth and LoRaWAN remote configuration are supported.
- The default configuration uses LoRaWAN OTAA Class A operation, with device-specific OTAA keys provided for network registration.
Why choose this product?
The converter is useful when existing SDI-12 sensors need wireless connectivity without replacing the sensors themselves. Its support for multiple LoRaWAN frequency bands also allows the appropriate regional version to be selected for the intended deployment.
The SDI-12 interface is particularly suited to sensor systems where measurements are already provided through the SDI-12 protocol. Remote configuration and OTA firmware updating can also simplify ongoing device management.
