DRAGINO Outdoor Wireless Dry Contact Monitoring Sensor is an outdoor LoRaWAN dry contact sensor designed to detect open and close status, record contact activity and transmit data to an IoT server. It supports event and periodic uplinks, open alarms, data logging, Bluetooth configuration and wireless firmware updates. With IP67 protection and battery or solar power options, it is suited to outdoor security, automation and industrial monitoring applications.

The DRAGINO Outdoor Wireless Dry Contact Monitoring Sensor is a LoRaWAN contact sensor for monitoring dry contact status in outdoor IoT applications. It detects whether a connected contact is open or closed, records the number of open events and calculates the duration of the most recent open period before transmitting this information to a compatible IoT server through LoRaWAN.

The sensor can transmit data periodically as well as in response to contact activity. Where immediate reporting of every event is not required, the device can instead count open events and send the information at periodic intervals. An open alarm can also be configured for notification of an open condition.

For locations where network availability may be interrupted, the DRAGINO Outdoor Wireless Dry Contact Monitoring Sensor includes a datalog function that stores data while the LoRaWAN network is unavailable and uploads it after the connection is restored. The IP67-rated enclosure is designed for outdoor use.

The range includes two power options. The CPL03-LB uses an 8500 mAh Li/SOCl2 battery, while the CPL03-LS combines a solar panel with a 3000 mAh Li-ion battery. Dragino states that the device is designed for long-term use of up to five years. Actual operating life can vary depending on configuration and operating conditions.

How it works

  • The sensor monitors the connected dry contact for open and close status.
  • It records contact activity, including open counts and the duration of the last open event.
  • Data can be transmitted periodically and in response to open or close events.
  • An open alarm can be configured for notification of an open condition.
  • If the LoRaWAN network is unavailable, supported data can be stored using the datalog function and uploaded when connectivity returns.

Why choose this product

The DRAGINO Outdoor Wireless Dry Contact Monitoring Sensor may suit installations that need to monitor the state of switches, doors, alarms or other dry contact devices without running communication cables to the monitoring system. Its outdoor enclosure, LoRaWAN connectivity and choice of battery or solar power allow it to be adapted to different installation environments.
