DRAGINO LoRaWAN Microwave Radar Distance Sensor | Solar Powered Available is a LoRaWAN microwave radar distance sensor that uses 24 GHz microwave technology to measure the distance between the sensor and objects. It can measure two objects, including the closest object and the next object behind it, with a measurement range of 0.5 to 20 metres, accuracy of ±0.1 metre and resolution of 0.01 metre. The MDS200-LS uses a solar panel with a 3000 mAh Li-ion battery, while the MDS200-LB uses an 8500 / 19000 mAh Li/SOCl2 battery.
The DRAGINO LoRaWAN Microwave Radar Distance Sensor | Solar Powered Available is designed for remote, non-contact measurement of the distance between the sensor and objects. It uses 24.000 to 24.500 GHz FMCW microwave radar and can measure distances from 0.5 to 20 metres.
Unlike ultrasonic or LiDAR measurement methods, Dragino states that microwave radar is more reliable in environments affected by condensation and dust. The sensor can also detect an object when there is water or thick dust on top of the sensor.
The MDS200 can measure two distances, identifying the closest object and the next object behind it. This makes it suitable for applications where object presence or multiple distance readings need to be monitored remotely.
How it works
