The Dragino MS48-LR is an open-source LoRaWAN to Modbus Gateway designed to bridge wireless LoRaWAN sensor networks with traditional industrial automation and control systems.
The gateway enables LoRaWAN sensors and end devices to communicate with systems that use Modbus RTU or Modbus TCP. This makes it possible to integrate wireless LoRaWAN measurements into PLCs, SCADA systems, industrial controllers, and other Modbus-compatible applications.
Instead of requiring a separate LoRaWAN gateway and an additional conversion device, the MS48-LR combines LoRaWAN connectivity and Modbus conversion in a single platform. It can operate as a Modbus RS485-RTU slave, converting LoRaWAN sensor uplink data into Modbus data and writing the information into registers accessible through the Modbus network.
The MS48-LR also includes a built-in LoRaWAN server and IoT server, allowing users to connect various LoRaWAN devices directly to the gateway.
