ProSense Project Spotlight: Scoping Multi-Site Acrel Circuit Monitoring
ProSense project spotlight | Scoping and quotation | Customer anonymised
A recent ProSense enquiry involved monitoring dozens of three-phase circuits across multiple sites. The proposed approach considered Acrel multi-circuit meters, matched current sensors and a cellular router connection. The work was at the specification and quotation stage when this spotlight was prepared.

The practical challenge
A circuit total alone does not produce an installation-ready equipment list. Meter capacity, the number of phases, the physical distribution of circuits and the available space around conductors all affect the design. A nominal four-circuit meter cannot necessarily combine circuits from separate switchboards or buildings.
What the scoping work established
The discussion separated three-phase circuits from individual current-sensing points. It also identified the need to group meters by site and confirm how each location would connect to the reporting platform. CT and Rogowski sensor options require an exact match to the meter input; they should not be treated as interchangeable accessories.
The proposed system
Circuit schedule → compatible sensors and meters → site router or gateway → central reporting. Final meter variants, sensor apertures, electrical topology and platform integration remain project-specific. A wireless feature does not establish that meters form a mesh network.
What to send for a useful proposal
Provide a circuit schedule grouped by board and site, phase configuration, expected current ranges, conductor dimensions, switchboard photographs and the desired reporting interval. State whether the aim is load comparison, operational reporting or another purpose. Electrical installation and commissioning need appropriately qualified personnel.
Project status
This is evidence of active ProSense specification work, not a completed installation or a claim of verified energy savings. The next steps are to finalise compatible equipment and confirm communications and reporting requirements before supply.
