Manufacturer-reported case | Monnit | ProSense application commentary

Monnit documents a dairy manufacturer's use of wireless monitoring after a door-sealing problem contributed to temperature excursions. This is Monnit's reported customer example, not a ProSense installation.

Manufacturer Case Insight: Monnit Door and Temperature Monitoring in Dairy Production - application planning overview

What Monnit reports

The manufacturer describes temperature and humidity sensors, food probes, door open/closed sensors, a gateway and iMonnit software. Readings and notifications helped staff observe temperature changes and doors left open. The published case also reports incidents detected after deployment. Those results belong to that particular manufacturer case and are not a forecast for another facility.

The useful application lesson

Temperature and door state answer different questions. Temperature shows the measured condition; door state can help an operator interpret the timing of an excursion. Reviewing both can support an investigation into work practices, seals or refrigeration performance, without assuming that a door event explains every temperature change.

Planning an Australian application

Define the production areas and assets that need monitoring, the required probe location and the staff responsible for responding. Include radio coverage through insulated panels, gateway connectivity, calibration needs and the available notification options in the specification. Monitoring arrangements must be assessed against the site's own food-safety program.

What to prove before handover

A proposed acceptance check should establish that each sensor is correctly named and placed, that timestamps and units are right, and that a test event reaches the responsible person. Confirm the escalation path and how communications failures will be detected. Recording a reading is only useful when someone can interpret and act on it.

Discuss your application

ProSense can discuss product selection and system requirements for a similar monitoring objective. Equipment, subscription features and integration scope need confirmation for the proposed site. Manufacturer claims of savings or regulatory outcomes are not adopted as ProSense guarantees.
