Long-Range, Gateway-Free Monitoring and Control

The ProSense FieldLink™ Offline Wireless Control Kit is a rugged, long-range control solution for remote and industrial locations where cellular coverage, SIM cards, internet access, and cloud subscriptions are unavailable or unnecessary.

FieldLink™ uses secure device-to-device LoRa communication between the field and control locations. No LoRaWAN gateway or cloud platform is required for core control functions.

Ideal applications include:

  • Remote tank-to-pump control
  • Float-switch and level alarm transmission
  • Pump, valve, and contactor control
  • Remote equipment status indication
  • Bore, dam, and irrigation control
  • Alarm transmission between buildings or field assets
  • Local Modbus equipment control

Under suitable line-of-sight conditions, FieldLink™ provides long-range communication across farms, industrial sites, water infrastructure, and distributed facilities. Actual range depends on antenna placement, terrain, obstructions, interference, and site conditions.

Flexible Industrial I/O

Each FieldLink™ controller provides:

  • 4 × digital or pulse inputs
  • 2 × SPDT relay outputs
  • 2 × 4–20 mA analogue inputs
  • 2 × 0–10 V analogue inputs
  • 2 × PT100 RTD temperature inputs
  • 1 × RS485 port with Modbus RTU support
  • 1 × RS232 port

This allows FieldLink™ to connect with float switches, pressure switches, alarms, pulse meters, level transmitters, temperature probes, Modbus instruments, pumps, valves, relays, and contactors.

Offline Device-to-Device Control

FieldLink™ sends control commands directly between compatible controllers using long-range LoRa communication.

A digital input at the remote controller can trigger an output or Modbus action at the receiving controller. Typical examples include:

  • Starting or stopping a pump from a tank float switch
  • Activating an alarm from a high-level switch
  • Switching a warning light or siren from a fault contact
  • Opening or closing a remote valve
  • Triggering an RS485 Modbus command

Each controller includes an internal IF–THEN rule engine for autonomous local control. Preset rules continue operating without internet, cellular service, or a cloud platform.

Analogue and Instrumentation Support

FieldLink™ supports 4–20 mA, 0–10 V, PT100, pulse, RS232, and RS485 instruments for measurement and rule-based automation.

The direct wireless connection transfers predefined control commands rather than continuously reproducing every analogue measurement at the second controller. Applications requiring continuous analogue value transmission, remote display, data logging, or cloud dashboards may require additional components or a different telemetry configuration.

ProSense can confirm the appropriate system architecture before supply.
