Solar-Powered RS485 to LoRaWAN Converter – Industrial RS485/UART Wireless Bridge
Solar-powered RS485/UART to LoRaWAN converter for long-range wireless monitoring and control. Maintenance-free operation with IP67 waterproof housing. Works with ProSight Software or your own platform. Stocked in Australia by ProSense.
The Solar-Powered RS485-to-LoRaWAN Converter (RS485-LS) is a rugged, long-range industrial interface that converts RS485, UART, and interrupt sensors into LoRaWAN wireless nodes. With built-in solar charging and a long-life Li-ion battery, it is engineered for continuous, maintenance-free operation — ideal for remote and off-grid installations.
Using LoRaWAN long-range technology, the RS485-LS enables wireless monitoring and control of Modbus meters, controllers, pumps, inverters, industrial sensors, and environmental instruments — all without cabling, trenching, or complex infrastructure.
The RS485-LS includes both 3.3V and 5V controllable power outputs to drive external sensors efficiently, maximising battery life. Its IP67 waterproof enclosure ensures reliable performance in harsh outdoor environments such as farms, water sites, industrial plants, forests, vineyards, and remote infrastructure.
How the Data Flow Works
Uplink:
-
Sends user-defined RS485/UART commands
-
Receives and parses responses using custom rule sets
-
Converts readings into compact LoRaWAN payloads
-
Transmits data to your LoRaWAN server
Downlink:
-
Runs in LoRaWAN Class A
-
Forwards cloud commands directly to RS485/UART devices
The device also supports Bluetooth v5.1 setup and wireless OTA firmware updates, making installation and fleet management simple.
All ProSense IoT field devices — including the RS485-LS — are fully compatible with ProSight Software, enabling dashboards, reports, alarms, and automation.
For advanced users, it can also be integrated into your own IoT or SCADA software using standard LoRaWAN payloads, MQTT bridges, and cloud APIs.
ProSense stocks this device locally in Australia and provides full Australian technical support for project integration and deployment.
