ACREL DC Insulation Monitor for Energy Storage and DC Distribution is designed to monitor insulation conditions in ungrounded DC systems and identify insulation faults between the DC circuit and earth. Acrel specifies the series for applications including EV charging equipment, solar PV systems, energy storage systems and DC distribution panels. How it works
- The monitor checks the insulation condition between the DC system conductors and earth.
- When the measured insulation resistance falls below a configured warning or alarm value, the device can provide an insulation fault indication.
- Depending on the model, the AIM-D series can also monitor DC system voltage and provide communication or relay outputs.
- Selected models support RS485 communication using the Modbus-RTU protocol.
