Load Selection Guidelines

To ensure long service life, select SSR current rating using the following rules:

  • Resistive load:
    SSR current ≥ 2 × load current

  • Inductive load:
    SSR current ≥ 6 × load current

  • Capacitive load:
    SSR current ≥ 10 × load current

Thermal Management Requirements

  • A heat sink is mandatory for correct operation

  • Apply thermal (silicon) grease between relay and heat sink

  • If operating current exceeds 60A, forced air cooling (fan) is required

  • Heat sink surface temperature must remain below 80 °C

Protection Recommendations

  • Install a fast-acting fuse to protect against load short circuits

  • Use a varistor (MOV) when switching inductive loads

  • Ensure adequate enclosure ventilation
